AFRICAN COURT

AU headquarters
Deep beneath
Below and under
With all the emphasize
I am African
By blood,
By color,
By tongue,
By toe
And woe
Above the lines-
Of glass
Of class
Of social ties
Of bow-ties
I am African.
Above the boundaries-
Real and imaginary
Of land,
Of soil,
Of soul,
Of hate,
Of plastic smiles
And small talk,
And pipeline dreams,
Of paper visions
And showy cheques
I am African
So when you talk of a court,
An African Court
To try the African
I stand to ask,
Whose court is it?
Who is to protect?
Me or You?
Is it my court?
Or your court
To save your asses
Or burn us to ashes
Yes we need a court
An African court
To protect us from you
Cos’ truly you are our enemies
You-our smiling silent killers…
